🔐 Our Data Destruction Policy
At T.R.S. Recycling, your data security is our top priority. We follow strict, industry-recognized protocols to permanently and irreversibly destroy all data-bearing devices — so your information never ends up in the wrong hands.
We proudly adhere to the NIST 800-88 Rev. 1 “Clear and Destroy” standard.
🚛 1. On-Site or Off-Site Destruction — Your Choice
We offer flexible destruction options based on your needs:
On-site destruction – We come to you and destroy your data-bearing devices at your location, giving you full transparency and peace of mind.
Off-site destruction – Prefer a hands-off approach? We’ll securely collect your devices and destroy them at our secure facility.
🧼 2. Certified Software Wiping
We use KillDisk Pro, a trusted NIST-compliant tool, to wipe all hard drives and SSDs.
✅ Multi-pass overwriting removes all recoverable data
✅ Complies with NIST 3-pass overwrite standards
✅ Secure, efficient, and fully trackable
🔨 3. Physical Destruction
After wiping, devices are physically destroyed to ensure zero chance of data recovery.
🛠️ Techniques include drilling, crushing, or dismantling
📱 Embedded storage in mobile devices is also removed and destroyed when applicable
📄 4. Certificate of Destruction
You’ll receive an official Certificate of Destruction with each job, which includes:
📦 Device type and serial number
🔁 Wiping method used
🔧 Destruction technique (e.g., 2-hole drill, shred)
📅 Date of service
📸 Photos of destroyed devices (available upon request)
